After learning about the urgency of climate change for her generation and the future, Melissa dove into undergraduate studies in environmental science and education. This journey lead her to discover the importance of looking at sustainability holistically, balancing human and ecological systems, the living and built environment, and social and economic needs. She has worked with a range of nonprofit and startup organizations to expand their reach and impact, bringing solar power, wind power, and agriculture projects to urban, suburban, and rural communities.
This work has also demonstrated to her how important it is for us, both individually and culturally, to reconnect with what really matters most in life - our health, meaning, relationships, and purpose. Through her private practice of Ayurvedic health counseling and yoga, Melissa helps people invite vitality, energy, and joy back into their lives. Looking at our lives and bodies through this holistic lens is also another way to understand and appreciate the natural world around us.
